Agencies Issue Joint Final Rule on Appraisals for Higher-Priced Mortgage Loans

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Federal Reserve Board, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the National Credit Union Administration, and the Federal Housing Finance Agency jointly issued a final rule to amend Regulation Z that will require, among other things, appraisals for “higher-risk mortgages.”  The final rule becomes effective on January 18, 2014.  To view this final rule, click here.
