CFPB Issues Proposed Rule Regarding Appraisals, Including Right to Copy Notices

The CFPB released a proposal to amend Regulation B to implement changes to the Equal Credit Opportunity Act made by the Dodd-Frank Act. Generally, the proposed amendment to Regulation B would require creditors to promptly provide applicants with copies of all written appraisal reports and valuations developed in connection with loans to be secured by a first lien on a dwelling. The comment period for this proposal ends October 15, 2012.
