High-Cost Mortgage and Homeownership Counseling Amendments

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) published a proposed rule on July 9, 2012, regarding the implementation of Dodd-Frank amendments to the Truth in Lending Act (TILA) pertaining to the Home Ownership and Equity Protection Act (HOEPA) and to TILA and Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act  (RESPA) governing homeownership counseling.  The CFPB must receive comments on this proposed rule on or before September 7, 2012.
